Who is Gabriel Ramsey?


Gabriel Ramsey is a strategist, advisor and operator working at the intersection of technology, entertainment and media. His work covered computer software and hardware, internet and networking technologies, video games, cloud computing, new media and entertainment content. It regularly extended beyond the courtroom into engagement with United States and foreign government agencies on behalf of clients.

Microsoft · Cybercrime disruption

Disrupting the Necurs botnet

Representing Microsoft, Ramsey took down Necurs, one of the largest spam botnets in operation. He used a novel theory of trademark infringement and worked with numerous foreign partners to gain control of more than six million of the botnet's internet addresses. The Daily Journal cited the effort in naming him a Top Intellectual Property Lawyer in 2022.

ROSS Intelligence v. Thomson Reuters

Ramsey was lead counsel for ROSS Intelligence in a federal copyright and antitrust dispute with Thomson Reuters and Westlaw over access to legal research data. The Daily Journal described it as a David versus Goliath legal battle.
